I finally got around to ordering and installing my driver door handle, but so far it isn’t working. I’ve made sure the wires match up, but something doesn’t seem right.

If I press the button on the handle to lock the doors, the DIC will say door open, but none of the doors are indicated as open (and none of them are open). Grabbing the handle to unlock isn’t working either.

I had the push to start working since last summer, and while I haven’t tried starting it since installing the handle, I was able to turn the ignition to accessory and then run without issue.

I tried the handle verification in Alfa, and it says not ok for all doors. Interestingly, it also shows 0 fobs if I do the Locate Learned Fobs test.

Is it maybe because I don’t have the passenger door handle?’ Any other ideas of things I can check?

Got the issue figured out. Apparently when I was doing the upgrade and I reinstalled the drivers side rear seat I crushed the drivers side harness under the seat bracket by the cab corner. Was able to repair it, and after a bit of additional troubleshooting, now everything is working perfectly. Many thanks to DoughRat19 for his help in troubleshooting.

Something interesting I found during this process was that, on my drive side entry antenna at least, the wires work either way they are connected. I had them swapped to see if that was the issue, and it ended up being something else. After I got it working I remembered they were still swapped, so I swapped them back just to see, expecting it to not work. However, to my surprise it still works. No fault codes or anything, and everything working like it should.

Any leads on the C2 connector for the hub? Mouser is showing non stock and TE Connectivity is showing backorder. Got the "free sample" ordered but unsure on a timeframe for receiving

I'm sure this has been mentioned in a previous post but if my 2015 laramie has been prewired up to the door on both front doors with the light green and corresponding tracer color for passive entry, what does this mean for adding this mod to the truck? I currently have everything ordered and have all wiring/connectors in hand. Would I just pin the new door handles to the corresponding connector pinout or would I have to build the harness as described by @Jimmy07 in post #1?
I ran my RF Hub info and the one i have is 68234886AC which from reading doesn't support passive entry. Curious on this additional step for the harness building.

Is it a HD truck? I’ve only come across two other trucks with cab wiring for push button and passive entry. They were either 2015 or 2016’s, I don’t recall. You should be good for push button but you won’t have the wiring inside the doors for the door antennas or door handles.

Thanks for the info Matt! I was able to confirm all existing wiring for the antennas and passive entry was present. Rear and center antenna wiring present and all other wiring was terminated at the body connectors. Will just need to add door wiring/ connectors for antennas and handles. Appreciate all the help.

I spoke to a representative at TE Connectivity regarding the C2 connector (since it's on backorder and hard to find elsewhere) and they pointed me to an alternate connector P/N 175967-2. I can confirm that the original terminals listed by Jimmy07 do in fact work with this alternate C2 connector and snaps into place in the RF Hub. Hope this helps future installs.

Gonna be a subtle upgrade, but I dig it. Laramie/limited handles from 2019+ HD trucks. Just need to order 2 more passenger side handles and run the wiring into the rear doors. Matt's truck (doughrat) has convinced me to do the rear doors as well!

Added the front handles to my 16. Really love the fact I don't need to remove the fob from my pocket to enter the truck. Thought about doing the rear but decided I really don't need them.

Alright guys im at my witts end and this is a long winded post. Im having a dilemma with my 2015 laramie 2500. Truck was pre-wired for both keyless go antennas (3&4) and pre-wired for door handles and rear door antennas up to the cab side. Keyless go works 100% without issue.

I purchased RF HUB 68319680AE.
Qty 1 of the key fobs from amazon as listed by @Jimmy07 in original post
All antennas purchased were brand new mopar as well as all corresponding connectors and pins from mouser.
Door handles are from a 2019+ HD as shown in post #1988 above and purchased brand new from allmoparparts.

All correct settings in alfa have been activated and rechecked many times. As has passive entry in the radio CSM menu.

I built the door jumper harnesses for the handles and rear antennas (1 & 2) using factory plugs/pins to the corresponding connectors. I can fault the antennas and door handles by unplugging the harnesses one by one and alfa will display each one as faulted. Plug back in, clear faults and upon next check faults do not come back. This leads me to believe the hub is detecting each component.

Has anyone successfully ran the "locate learned key fob" function while outside the truck. Neither of my door antennas will register on this function but with fob in the truck at various spots the function will catch and display "in cab: 1".

I've tried running the LF Antenna Verification check and it just shows "procedure completed " every time but no values displayed.

Door handle verification test will always display "not okay" but if I keep running the test over and over again *sometimes* it will display driver and passenger handle "okay".

I've disconnected the batteries for a couple of hours to push a reset to no avail. I've performed hub reset/replace a couple times and no change.

I have gone over the wiring 100% from my jumper harnesses to the trucks factory wiring. Checked pin outs dozens of times making sure the wiring is 100% correct in location and it is! Ran continuity tests from component connectors to C2 connector and every single test comes back good. I had read around page 80ish of this thread where someone reversed the antenna wiring and it still picked up the signal so i did the same and reversed the wiring for the door antennas.....no change! I have not reversed the door handle wiring at this point. But I'm ruling my wiring out as a culprit for now.

In short of buying new components to test with and throwing money out the window, can anyone in similar situations recommend where to go next? Tell me something I havnt tried yet!

Edit: when running the system status function everything that should display "present" or "working" are indeed correct.
What's weird is that it also shows my truck as a 2012 when indeed it is a 2015. So that's a strange situation.

Get an OEM fob. I told you, I’ve trouble shoot a passive entry issue before and it was the aftermarket fob. It worked fine for push button but did not work at all for passive entry. Even in one of the reviews for the fob that was purchased the reviewer stated that it did not work with passive entry.

Yeah I remember you telling me that Matt. I gotta go by the dealer tomorrow for some parts, I'll grab a new oem fob and report back.

Finally, it’s time to remove the inner panel and install the new door handle. Make sure to run the wire so it doesn’t interfere with the window operation.
Here’s a video of it https://www.ramforum.com/threads/how-to-add-factory-keyless-enter-n-go.134961/page-3#post-1930857
Here’s the service manual instructions

Test handle operation and put everything back together and now you have passive entry.

One final note on your PIN. From here on out, when you perform an RF Hub reset, such as after you adjust tire pressure thresholds, your PIN will be 0000. If you need to program a fob, you will use your original PIN. I’m not sure why yet, but I’ll see what Alexey has to say. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about, since the fob programming is still secured by your original PIN.

Thanks to all the members throwing ideas around over in the oem push button start thread. Special thanks to @skuppy069, who was doing this at the same time as me. I got to talk to him on the phone when he had the dealer enable his and we were able to confirm a few things. And thanks to Alexey, as he was able to finally get the programming to work in about 6 hours, all while dealing with the crashing issues from the previous update.
Hey Jimmy07, I have scanned the forum and could find the answer. I have a 2014 Laramie with with factory Keyless Go and remote start. I want to add passive handles to the rear. I have the handles and connectors but wanted to know what you guys think the best place is to tap into the front doors.

Thank you

I know this thread is a few years old but I wanted to say thank you a million for this thread. So awesome to be able to save big $$ because you want to help the community out. Had to do some cross referencing in finding the correct parts but ended up finding it. May be a bit more challenging now due to the rolling 5 pin programming code but I think I can make it happen.

4th gen rams do not have a rolling 5 digit pin.

Well maybe you can help me figure it out. I have a 2022 ram 1500 classic warlock, try to pull the pin with alphaOBD and JScan but can’t due to rolling 5 digit pin. Maybe I’m reading the wrong thread for this upgrade. It’s like I have the body of the classic ds but the computer of the dt….

It’s because there is a bug with the current version of Alfaobd. Email me and I can get you an older version that will work.
