    Still have that rattling noise. Decided to pull the oil pan off to inspect things. Found no metal shavings in the pan. Sump pump filter is clean. Oil pressure when warm idling is 35-40psi. Push rods and rocker arms seemed fine upon inspection. Valves maybe?

    No need for the cat/o2 or power steering pump to be replaced, all are just fine. Truck has 99k on it, I'd be more concerned about cap and rotor, plugs, wires, etc. Runs fine besides the collapsed lifter. Also, a 15 degree difference in thermostats won't cause much of a difference. Not likely to...

    I would start with replacing the plenum gasket. That could be the cause of your codes. I'm in the process of doing mine. Highly recommend the updated plenum fix from Hughes.

    My best guess would be rattling. It's not a consistent ticking noise. It's only when I rev the motor slightly and only at certain rpm range. Seems to rattle around 1500-2500 range. But like I mentioned, when driving under load it does not do it. I'll take a video of it tomorrow and post it...

    I believe the passenger side. Same side the noise is coming from. The rattling sounds like it's right under the valve cover.
