1980s Hood Ornaments?

I have a 2011 ram 1500 sport 5.7L hemi super 10 cat back, diablo sports tuner. k&n intake, throttle body spacer blah blah.. stock ride height other stylish mods ..

My question is I have a 1980s dodge ram hood ornament and I'm curious to know if anyone has done this yet .

Also what does it look like installed on a 4th gen sport ram. Also what metal composition are the ornaments made of?

i remember the massive ram logo, if i were you, i'd put color changing led in its eyes and somehow make steam come out of its nostrils on command - would be the only thing I would stick on my ram hood.

Hey, I had many of those 80's ram heads.I have the big one from a 1952 dodge truck now in mint but wont put it on cause like back then someone will steal it.Opinion mount it on a tool box or ??IMHO

I would never steal a ram ornament. I think people deserve public punishment for such things.

Weren’t they a cast iron or some sort?

Most of the old ornaments were made of zinc. They will last a long time provided the chrome is not chipped, once that happens corrosion sets in.

As far as appearance, your call, not my cup of tea.

I had one on my '84. The eyes actually lit up.

I have seen a RAM head on a Charger... The eyes lit up and they had their NOS purge blow through the nose... Yeah, it looked pretty bad ass. LOL

The actual ornament is cast zinc, pretty easy to drill out for "eye lights" and such, equally easy to have re-chromed.

Personally, I want a "rubber duck" like Kristofferson had on his truck in the movie Convoy...

I have been toying with the idea of mounting a Ram head on my ram sincec2003 on my 2003 2500. Then again considered it as in on my 11 1500. Finally saw one mounted on a fourth gen. Looked awful. Didn't look like it belonged on the truck.
