I was just cruising about 25MPH and the engine started making a tapping noise and also running rough a couple of weeks ago. I shut it down and had it towed to the house. This weekend I got a chance to break it down a bit and what I started seeing didn't look good. There was oil on the intercooler under the blower and when I opened up the intercooler there was a puddle of oil in it at the Map sensor. The oil felt gritty and the intake runners looked like they had 300K miles of crud on them. The engine only has 45K on it so there is something seriously up with the PVC system. I have 2 catch cans on it but something is not right.

The engine is ready to pull this coming weekend for a break down to see how bad this is internally.

Well Crap!! Looks like spring failure. Probably a good thing it let go at low RPM or it would have been worse. Time to back up and punt again...

The one question I'm waiting for to be answered is if the 6.2 truck block has the oil dip stick hole set up for a rear sump pan. Hopefully it's the TRX long block and that should work. Meanwhile I'm preping for it.

I think all the blocks are set up with both the pass side and drivers side holes for the dipstick. The Hellcat is basically the standard BGE block and it's used in both the cars and trucks

No problem. This seems like it could be a good and simple swap. SC or NA with any add on's and a tune!

Right again Wild one! It has been confirmed multi tap for dip stick. It looks as if the Hellcat or Demon long block will be a simple drop in with the rest of my covers, pan and accessories by using the intake plates that come with it. I found an article that goes in depth about the evolution of the 6.2 variations. Very impressive read. The demon red block is Mac daddy. Here is the artical, I hope it's not a repeat and ok tc post the link.
