I have reset the navigation volume to 10 a few times and every time I start the truck, the volume is set to 15.
I enabled to Off-road Capable and Pages and the screen never showed up. Another confirmation it was removed from 40.1.

If it makes you feel any better I checked my Nav and low and behold mine defaults to 15 as well. I haven't really messed with it since upgrading to 40.1 and updating the maps to 2023 so never realized the volume issue. Only seems to affect the Nav volume. I use Android Auto Waze for daily commute due to the notifications and routing options. Built in Nav is better for when we go on camping trips as the routes are more truck friendly. Annoying, but doubt there's a fox out there. Doesn't just affect Ram trucks, it's a Uconnect issue across all Chrysler products.

And the nav volume stuck at (15) issue persists on the my 22 5th Gen with 12" radio... You would think they could have fixed this by now but it is Stellantis!

I never got ORC on my 2018, from V22 to V40, but I've had the volume "save" since I installed I think V39, from V28.

I have a Rebel, and it was set to Off Road Truck from the factory.

I got performance pages to show the button on V40 for a couple starts, but the page itself never loaded.

After the screen didn't turn on during the upgrade to 28.3 (new anxiety unlocked), I'm just thankful it has worked every time since the last upgrade to 40.1.

I did have some issues with 28.3 and the screen "blanking" or shutting down now that I think about it. Thought multiple times I had bricked the radio, until I upgraded to 39.2 (I think?) before 40.1 was "known", or released.

This is what is on my Uaq. I have issues with black screen and apple car play not working. also showing dual zone climate control plus no xm or cargo cam. Do I need to upgrade in stages or what? Help a dummy out here.

See my post and @SitKneelBend 's info here
You can technically go straight to v40.1 but if it was me I'd update to v28.3 first, then to v40.1

Pretty sure the service bulletins said that it had to be updated incrementally, with a minimum of 22.64. I updated to 28.3 and then 40.1 without issue. Only weird thing is when I am using XM radio and truck shuts off it defaults to 2nd set of presets 7 through 12 instead Of 1 through 6. Doesn't affect use, just my OCD. Thought about reflashing, but then something could stop working.

This is a great thread. Thanks so much for all the info here.

I am getting ready to update to 40.1 on my 2018 2500 with the UAQ system. I believe the system is currently on 22.61.
To confirm I have read correctly, I need to upgrade to 28.3, then I can upgrade to 40.1.

Do any of the changes I have made with AlfaOBD get wiped or need to be updated after the upgrade of the software?

And then I will be able to update the maps to this version:
2023 Map Update for Uconnect® 4C NAV w/ 8.4" touch-screen (v1 ASO)

Do I need to worry about including a map pack? I have seen a few references to the map pack, but no links.
My map database is version 17Q2

@haleme - Would you happen to have the map update file (2023 Map Update for Uconnect® 4C NAV w/ 8.4" touch-screen (v1 ASO) you can share with me? Trying to update my maps to the latest version. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can throw my way!

Had my truck at the dealer for the bluetooth initializing/android auto not working and while he couldn't get it to flash further than the 40.1 I did myself, he did attempt which lets me know there's another update out there if anyone has access.

Anyone have the update after 40.1 for the uaq? I'm on 40.1 already, not sure what the latest update fixed or broke.

After I updated to 40.1, the uconnect store showed a map update that can be purchased.

I am running NN-USA-ASO-8.4-QR-40.1.0-20220821-Q0J0 on my 2019 Classic. Everything is working great as far as I can tell (including AA and Carplay) but I would be interested in knowing if there is a more recent update. The date here indicates Aug of 2022.

I have heard of dealers telling customers there is a newer update but have yet to see it (and the customers told this have yet to receive it).

Just an FYI....
@rustypie is helping get an ftp server setup on his site to help host a spot for me to upload /link the 18/19-21 classic USA & Canadian Panasonic 4c UAx/UCx sw updates (v18 to v40.1) and the 13-17 Harmon 8.4 RAx (USA & Canadian).

If anyone has any of the Canadian sw updates or knows a link to get it, let me know (message me) so I can download & link it (have a few).

& Thanks rustypie!

May take me a few days to get everything I have uploaded and make sure nothing got skipped.

Just wanted to post and say I successfully upgraded to 40.1 on my UAQ unit, part number 68331631AK. It was on 22.66 when I pulled it out of the salvage yard. Per @Mpgrimm2 's recommendation, I upgraded to 28.3 first. I included the map files from the 21.9 upgrade file, just to see what it would do. You can see in my attached images the database name/version before and after the upgrade. They both say 17Q2 in the name so even though there is some additional added text after the upgrade, it "appears" to be the same database version that was on my radio already.

I've seen several posts asking this but never saw a firm answer regarding how the files should look on the USB drive when performing the update. I posted a screenshot of how the ROOT of your USB drive should look when you're ready to upgrade. When you open your USB drive you should have the VP4R_Update and map_package folders. If you are not attempting to update your map files, then the only folder you should see in your USB drive is the VP4R_Update folder.

I also wanted to add I was having some trouble with the USB drive I was using. It was a 128GB USB drive, but I had it partitioned down to 16GB formatted as FAT32. Every time I would plug it into the USB port in the truck, nothing would come up and on the Media screen on the radio, it would say USB Error, Reinsert. Well, I didn't have another flash drive with me, but I did have an empty 500GB USB hard drive. I deleted the existing partition and created a new 16GB partition and formatted as FAT32. Loaded the radio files and plugged it into the truck and the update prompt appeared almost immediately.
