Can I upgrade my 2016 Uconnect to 2018 Uconnect to get CarPlay?

My goal is to get Apple CarPlay.

Currently have 2016 RAM-1500 With Uconnect Radio.
Already applied latest update to it: UCONNECT_8.4A_RA3_17.43.01_MY16_NAFTA
Harman Radio Part #: 68238619AG ; 95% sure this is right, not ready to rip it out yet to confirm

But want CarPlay too ?

My understanding is that I need a Radio h/W upgrade to the unit found in a 2018 Ram.
My basic questions are:
Can I simply purchase a 2018 Harman 8.4 unit and swap it ?
if so, any suggestions on OEM / Aftermarket Canadian trusted sites
Will the part # be different for 2018 version , I'm assuming yes, please provide it.

Yes it's a common upgrade and easy to do. There are several posts about it in the 4th gen DIY section.

First off all 8.4s that support apple CarPlay and android auto are Panasonic not Harman.
