Thanks dub, I like those open holes. Is it just me or is it ridiculous in 2024 we still can't get an oil filter with open flow tube and inlet holes and 100% spun fiber?

I guess it's not possible of having the best of things all in one?

And again, after taking another look at the FRAM XG2/10575 ULTRA Synthetic oil filter(s), they aren't all that impressive. jm2¢

Compared to an MOPAR MO899, they appear to be the same with the exception the placement of by-pass valve being placed at the top.

I wouldn't use either of these.

Capital One shopping pointed me to zoro.com (online direct to consumer division of Grainger) for Purolator Boss Purolator PBL24651 for $11.25 free shipping on orders over $50 and capital one gave me 8% back rewards. :33: Keep ya'll posted
Received my filters all in good condition, got my 8% back from cap 1.

Also received a 20% off code in the mail from zoro figured I’d share

Well, I haven't gotten around to it on cutting open my last oil filter(Royal Purple 20-820) from my last/recent Blackstone Labs report.

I'll cut it open and take look and post a pic of two ... may not be able to see much of anything, but then again maybe part of my HEMI's pistons and cam may clogged up in it, lol. I haven't a clue what the inside of the filter looks after my accident.

Added note: I used Red Line 5w/30 and the Royal Purple 20-820 oil filter.

Well, here's a few pics of the Royal Purple 20-820/Red Line 5w/30 oil that had ~3000 miles @ nine months since the last oci on my 2017 HEMI 5.7(June/2023 to May/2024)

I performed my HEMI engines oci a couple of weeks(middle of May/2024)after I finally had it returned back to me after the repairs from the collision were done(Nov./2023). I was almost at "my oci/3000 miles when the accident occurred, so the oil sat stagnant for the duration of repairs.

• First pick showing very dirty filter media with sloppy glueing from Royal Purples contracted Mexican manufacturer ... I didn't know it was sloppy.

• Second pic shows on the inside of the outer oil canister where I had the FilterMag attached and the bottom of the oil canister with some dirty oily black film. I wiped the inside with a paper towel showing the oily black build up on it.

• Other pics are random and shows what would be typical and expected.

My oil report from Blackstone Labs is posted over on the Blackstone Labs thread, shows that Aluminum is @ 9 ppm with the previous average 2 ppm and Iron @ 31 ppm with previous average 11 ppm.

I'll submit another sample to Blackstone Labs on the next and upcoming oci(@ 3000 oci) and will post those results

Hopefully the accident/collision with the eighteen wheeler gravel truck didn't hurt the engine and that these wear metals are high due to things being taken off of the bent frame and onto the new one. Idk.

@JHoward , my immediate knee-jerk impression is that there is quite a collection of nasty looking crud on the inlet side of the filter media that apparently did not make it past the filter media to the other side. It looks like the filter did it's job.

Yeh, there wasn't a cam or lifter stuck it, lol ... so I'm glad the filter did what it was designed to do.

Now, gotta wait a couple of months at the next oci, send the sample in to Blackstone Labs and hope that that the report shows normal wear metals.

... if someone is looking for an lower price, call Summit Racing and ask for their "Price match guarantee" even if other online sellers are out of stock ... they'll ask for whom is the other(online)seller for verification.

I still have a couple new-in-the-box RP filters from last November/December 2023 or so.
I'm also curious to see if we can spot any differences.

Interesting just checked the 19 I have . And 17 are product of Mexico. 2 stamped USA which I believe came from advance auto bought last summer

When and where were the other 15 purchased? Before or after the 2 USA stamped filters?

If my memory serves me correctly roughly 12 bought online through a link posted in here and then the website ran out and I found an O Reilly in a small town 26 miles away with some in stock. I believe that’s the 2 USA stamped came from. The other 5 through Amazon. This was all taking place during the time that RP filters couldn’t be found
