That seems like good advice so I will check it often to see if creates a dust issue. I do drive on dirt roads often enough and I have seen other posts raising concerns with some reusable filters. The right amount of oil is important, not too much, not too little.- firepuppet66

And the winner is....? Disconnect the battery. Yup, that did it. Just back from a good spin and she's back down to 15L/100km so about 16mpg U.S., 19 mpg Canadian Imperial. All good suggestions. I did not disconnect the battery at that time. That is worth a try. I did look in a few boots and the springs looked OK but I did not check them all. Interesting. I'm not sure what too much anti-sieze would do. Now, I did not heavily coat them but you could see the film on the threads. I torqued the plugs in properly. I hate the thought of pulling them all out mainly because my leg muscles did not like being cramped into the engine bay...- firepuppet66

Locked in low range(didn't select) and other issues.
